Every day for one year I photographed a different woman and asked her what inspires her. I started by photographing my close friends and family. I asked the women in my life to recommend other women to me who I could photograph. I photographed women I met on the street, in the grocery store, and at the park. I photographed them because something about them was interesting to me, and then I asked them what inspires them. Their answers were as unique as they are.
This project allowed me to meet and connect with so many amazing women and I am grateful to each of them for sharing their stories with me.
In May 2012 p:ear gallery in Portland, Oregon hosted a collection of photographs and in the same month I successfully completed a Kickstarter campaign and raised $10,000 to publish a book. Three years later that book is becoming a reality!
The book will be released on April 18, 2015. If you supported the Kickstarter campaign at the $50 and higher level you can expect to receive your copy of the book by the end of April. If you’d like to purchase copies of the book you can do so on this website — please just click the “Buy the Book” tab in the main menu and then follow the instructions to use PayPal to buy the book. They cost $25 plus shipping.
Also please check back soon for details about upcoming events to celebrate the book!
Thanks so much for your support!
